Duggy

Collect match fees without chasing anyone

The worst job in club cricket is asking friends for money. Duggy makes match fees self-service: players top up by UPI or cash, a manager approves it in one tap, charges post automatically, and everyone's balance is always visible - including to the player who owes it.

The end of the ₹300 that never comes back

Every club has the same leak: someone plays, someone pays, and the difference quietly becomes the captain's personal loss. When fees live in a WhatsApp thread they decay in days; when they live on a shared, visible balance they get settled. We wrote about the leak in the ₹300 that never comes back.

Match fees are one entry in the club's wider ledger - see cricket club accounting for how top-ups, expense splits and tournament kitties fit together.

Frequently asked questions

How do players pay their match fees?

By UPI straight to the club's UPI ID from inside the app, or with cash at the ground. Either way the player reports what they paid, and a manager approves the claim against the bank statement or cash box before it credits their balance.

Does Duggy chase players who owe money?

Players who owe see it on their own balance the moment they open the app, and anyone can text 'due' to the Duggy WhatsApp bot to get their outstanding amount. Managers see the club-wide dues list in one view.

Does the money go through Duggy?

Never. Payments go directly from the player to the club's own UPI ID or cash box - Duggy is the record book that keeps every balance honest.

Can we charge different amounts per match?

Yes - each match's actual costs are recorded and split across that match's squad, so fees reflect reality instead of a flat guess.

What about players who pay in advance?

Advance top-ups sit as credit on the player's balance and future match charges draw it down automatically - the most common way clubs run on Duggy.

Can we show a UPI QR at the ground?

Paid plans include a branded club UPI QR you can print or share in the group - scans go straight to the club's UPI ID.

How do managers verify a payment claim?

The claim lists amount, method and optional UPI reference (UTR); the manager checks the club's bank statement or cash box and approves or rejects with a note. Approval credits the balance instantly.

Can members pay yearly membership fees the same way?

Yes - any club due (membership, tournament share, fines) is a charge on the member's balance, settled by the same UPI/cash top-up flow.

Do players get notified when their payment is approved?

Yes - approval or rejection lands as a push notification on their phone, and the balance updates everywhere including their wallet card.

What if a member disputes a charge?

Every entry is dated, labelled and visible on their statement - disputes end with a statement, not a shouting match. Corrections are new visible adjustment entries.

Does Duggy support cash-only clubs?

Fully - cash payments are reported in-app and approved by a manager, so even a no-UPI club gets clean books.

Can we export the club's match fee history?

CSV export on paid plans gives the full ledger for audits or your own records.

What does match fee collection cost?

Free for clubs up to 20 players. Paid plans from ₹1,999/year add the branded UPI QR, higher limits and CSV import/export.
