Why clubs move off WhatsApp and Excel
A WhatsApp group buries “who paid” under a hundred messages, and a spreadsheet can't show a player their own balance or split a match without someone doing the maths at midnight. Duggy's ledger is append-only - top-ups, match charges, store orders and adjustments all land as visible entries - so the books reconcile themselves and disputes end with a statement, not an argument.

Frequently asked questions
What is cricket club accounting?
It's tracking the money a cricket club shares: who contributed what, what each match cost, who owes the club and who is in credit. Duggy keeps this as an append-only ledger with a live balance and statement for every member.
How do members pay the club?
By UPI straight to the club's UPI ID from inside the app, or by cash at the ground. Either way the member reports the payment and a manager approves it against the bank statement or cash box before it credits their balance.
Can Duggy split match expenses?

Do we need a treasurer or accountant?
No. Duggy does the running maths for every member, so the captain stops being the club's unpaid accountant. Every entry is visible to the member it affects, so the books stay honest by default.
Does Duggy hold the club's money?
Never. Duggy is the record book, not a bank. The club collects into its own UPI ID or cash box; Duggy keeps a tamper-evident balance for every member.
Can the ledger be edited or fudged?
The ledger is append-only: top-ups, charges and adjustments land as dated, visible entries. Corrections are new adjustment entries, not silent edits - that's what makes the books trustworthy.
How do members check their balance without opening the app?
Text "balance" or "due" to the Duggy WhatsApp or Telegram bot and get an instant answer. Statements are also on the digital club card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet.
Can we import our existing Excel records?
Paid plans include CSV import, so members and historical statements move across in minutes. CSV export is there too - your data is never locked in.
How are membership fees and annual subscriptions handled?
Charge them as membership fee entries against each member - they draw down the member's balance like any other charge, and the dues list shows who's behind.
What about tournament money?
Tournaments get their own kitties: members contribute in advance, expenses and goodies draw against the kitty, and everything flows through the same club ledger. See cricket tournament management.

No - Duggy runs the money and organisation side. Keep your scoring app for ball-by-ball; paid plans can import matches from Cricheroes so expenses attach to real fixtures.
