Duggy
The expense tracker built for cricket teams
Ground fees, match balls, umpires, post-match chai - cricket teams bleed small shared costs every weekend. Duggy records each match's expenses once, splits them across the squad automatically, and keeps a live balance for every player. Nobody fronts money and quietly eats the loss.
What you get
- Record match costs once - per-player charges post automatically
- Squad-aware splits: only that match's players get charged
- Advance top-ups: players keep a balance, charges draw it down
- Member-paid expenses credited back automatically
- Every player sees their own statement and live balance
- UPI and cash top-ups with manager review
- One ledger for matches, kits, tournaments and store orders
Why match-day maths kills WhatsApp groups
The captain pays ₹3,000 for the ground, someone else buys balls, a third player collects cash from half the team - and by Monday nobody agrees on who owes what. A cricket team is not a one-off dinner bill: the same 20 people share costs every week, with a rotating squad. That's a ledger problem, not a split problem.
Duggy's append-only club ledger means every charge and every top-up is a visible, dated entry. Read why captains quit being accountants on the Duggy blog, or see the full cricket club accounting picture.
Frequently asked questions
How does Duggy split cricket match expenses?
Record the match's costs - ground, balls, umpires, refreshments - once. Duggy divides them across the playing squad and posts each player's share as a charge on their personal statement. No calculator, no midnight spreadsheet.
Can players see what they were charged?
Yes. Every player has their own statement and live balance in the app, so 'what am I paying for?' answers itself. Disputes end with a statement, not an argument.
How is this better than Splitwise or an Excel sheet?
Generic splitters don't know cricket: squads change every match, some members pay in advance, and the club also charges kits and tournament fees. Duggy keeps one running club ledger - advances, match splits, store orders - instead of a pile of one-off splits.
What if someone pays for the ground from their own pocket?
Record it as their expense contribution - their balance is credited while the match cost is split across everyone, so the payer is automatically made whole.
Is the cricket team expense tracker free?
Free for teams up to 20 players and 5 matches a month, with the full ledger. Paid plans start at ₹1,999/year.
Does Duggy handle unequal splits?
Yes - sponsors, free invited guests and outside contributions are handled cleanly, so the remaining cost splits only across the members who should pay.
Can we track non-match expenses like kit or trophies?
Yes - any club expense can be recorded and charged to the right members; store orders (jerseys, caps) charge automatically when fulfilled.
How do advance top-ups work for match fees?
Players top up in advance by UPI or cash; the balance sits as credit and each match's share draws it down. Most Duggy clubs run entirely on advances.
Does the club's money pass through Duggy?
No - payments go straight to the club's UPI ID or cash box. Duggy is the tamper-evident record of who paid and who owes.
Can players check their share on WhatsApp?
Yes - text "balance", "statement" or "due" to the Duggy WhatsApp bot for an instant answer without opening the app.
Can we import last season's Excel sheet?
Paid plans include CSV import for members and historical statements, and CSV export whenever you want your data out.
Is Duggy a cricket scoring app?
No - it runs the money and organisation side. Paid plans import matches from Cricheroes so expense splits attach to real fixtures.
What does cricket expense tracking cost?
Free for teams up to 20 players and 5 matches a month. Paid plans start at ₹1,999/year with more matches, UPI QR collection and CSV import.
